Hercules

Hercules on Myceane.

Hercules was one of the greatest and well known heroes of Ancient Greece. A longtime friend and ally of Jason, king of Iolcus, as the island is sacred to Zeus and its king, the Warden of Zeus, Hercules often visited the island, becoming fast friends with the young king and was the first to become one of the faithful Argonauts.

As the son of Zeus, the greatest god in the Greek Pantheon,

Hercules possessed incredible strength, enough to rip a man in half and enabling him to move the giant boulder blocking the entrance to the Cave of Almathea

On Delphi he appeared to Jason as a vision in the Cave of Doubts, asking him if he was willing to sacrificing the lives of his friends in order to revive Alceme (Jason's deceased wife).

He and the satyr Pan developed a close bond aboard the Argo, often seen discussing the finer things in life.

Hercules and Achilles can also occasionally be found gushing over the delicious foods of Greece, or of tales of their glory.

Despite being driven mad by the goddess Hera, driving him to murder his wife, Megara, and their five children in a fit of rage, Hercules is a kind man and an extremely loyal friend.

In the myth, Hercules has a second wife, Deianira. But since she is not mentioned during the game, it is assumed that he marries her after the events of the game.
